Being More At Genesis Burson-Marsteller

Our endeavour of pushing boundaries in communications also makes us keenly aware of our responsibilities as a corporate citizen. In addition to contributing monetarily to Genesis Foundation for the treatment of critically ill underprivileged children, our teams give their time and expertise to support Genesis Foundation’s fund-raising initiatives.

Contributing to the Power of 100

“For the cost of a cup of coffee, GBM team members are contributing the gift of life to kids in need,” Prema Sagar, Vice Chair, Burson-Marsteller, Asia Pacific & Principal/Founder, Genesis Burson-Marsteller sums up how easy it is to go beyond our daily lives and give back to the community. Genesis Foundation, led by Prema, has an impactful employee payroll programme called Power of 100. The Power of 100 demonstrates that even the smallest contribution—just Rs 100, or about USD 2—can go a long way toward saving the lives of those less fortunate. For us at Genesis Burson-Marsteller, this was a perfect way to go beyond Being More for our clients and for the company to Being More for the community.

As part of the Power of 100, more than 200 employees at Genesis Burson-Marsteller are donating Rs 100 per month to the Genesis Foundation through automatic payroll deduction. “It’s rewarding to see so many people participate in the programme and even more rewarding to know how much it’s helping the children,” said Prema.

Contributing our expertise

As communication professionals, GBM employees also volunteer their expertise in helping the Foundation spread its message and raise funds for the treatment of the children it supports. Creating impactful campaigns across traditional and new media platforms, our work has not just helped the Foundation in its objectives, it has also won us industry accolades and awards, including the Asia Pacific Excellence Award, Sabre South Asia Award and Exchange4Media’s IPRCCA Award.
